COOLING TOWER WATER FILTRATION

Cleaner cooling towers water means less maintenance and less dirt going downstream to heat exchangers. Also, cleaner cooling tower basins and fills increase equipment life and reduce maintenance.

WELL WATER FILTRATION

Some Data Centers rely on groundwater for their makeup water supply. This water often contains sand and sediment that can damage pump impellers and downstream equipment. Adding separator filtration in water wells ensures long impeller life, extended well usage, and continuous operation.

HEAT EXCHANGER & CHILLER WATER FILTRATION

Dirt and Debris in chilled water settles in chillers and heat exchangers - reducing heat transfer surface area. This reduces heat transfer efficiencies and can decrease flow as well.

OPEN WATER INTAKE FILTRATION

Open Water sources provide a large makeup water source for cooling but filtration is necessary to protect pump intakes from floating debris or fauna. Protecting pump intakes ensure trouble free operation and continuous operation.

DATA CENTER COOLING:
AIR vs. WATER

A white paper published in the November 2022 edition of the ASHRAE Journal took a holistic look at the real costs associated with operating Air-Cooled and Water-Cooled Chiller systems being used at data centers in Denver, Phoenix, and Los Angeles. The study takes a unique look at the amount of water used not only in the system, but also the water used to generate the electricity to operate these systems.

The comparison between air-cooled and water-cooled chiller systems in data center cooling reveals that water-cooled systems demonstrate greater efficiency, especially in terms of energy consumption and water usage.

Incorporating a LAKOS Separator into the cooling system helps maintain and can further enhance the overall efficiency.

A LAKOS System:

  1. Improves Chiller System Performance

  2. Enhances Energy Efficiency

  3. Mitigates Potential Water Quality Issues

  4. Supports Conservation of Water

WHY LAKOS?

PREMIUM PERFORMANCE

Only lAKOS Separators can remove dirt from cooling water as fine as 5 microns - performance that no other competitors can match

ZERO WATER WASTE

LAKOS Separators feature zero water loss options to recover every drop of water - compared to other filtration technologies that waste thousands of gallons in backwash processes.

GREEN BEFORE IT WAS COOL

LAKOS was founded in 1972 with the belief that there is a simpler way to filter water that does not waste water and fill landfills with filters. This belief lead to the development of the LAKOS Centrifugal Separator.
